Shanghai reports two more imported cases of COVID-19


(MENAFN) According to a statement issued on Sunday by the municipal health commission of Shanghai Province, the last 24 hours witnessed two new imported confirmed COVID-19 cases with no additional international transmission in China"s central coastal city.

The imported cases were Russian sailors who departed from Russia on June 28 and arrived in the city on July 9. Showing symptoms, they were sent to a designated medical institution for isolated observation and were confirmed as COVID-19 patients.


All of the 19 close contacts on board with them have been put under quarantine.

The commission declared that as of Sunday, a total of 382 confirmed imported cases had been reported in Shanghai and 342 locally transmitted cases.
