COVID-19 claims 34 more lives in Afghanistan, death toll at 898


(MENAFN) Based on a confirmation made on Monday by Akmal Samsoor, an official for Afghanistan's Public Health Ministr, the overall figure of patients who have screened positive for the novel coronavirus so far in the country has jumped to 33,190 , after 239 more cases were recorded in the past 24-hour period.

Since the South Asian nation was first hit by the pandemic on February, a total of 898 lives have been claimed by the merciless infection, with the number including 34 fatalities reported in the previous day, according to the ministry's spokesman.

Samsoor further included that up to now,a number of 20,103 patients have survived their deadly infection and been accordingly discharged from hospitals, with 737 of those reported over the last 24 hours across the nation.
