Bangladesh announced USD67 billion budget for following FY

The parliament of Bangladesh said on Tuesday that it has approved a USD67 billion national budget from the following 2020-21 fiscal year, starting on July of 2020 and ending on June of 2021.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has presented the parliament with the yearly budget of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government.

The parliament has approved the budget unanimously by voice vote on the last working day of the ongoing 2019-20 financial year after making some adjustments.

The expansion rate of the GDP of the country came in at 8.2 percent for the 2020-21 fiscal year, and it has been revised to 5.2 percent over the negative economic effects of the coronavirus outbreak.
