Peru adds 3,625 more COVID-19 cases


(MENAFN) A number of 3,625 more patients tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Peru over the past 24 hours ending on Sunday, with the total figure of cases rising to 275,989, including 9,135 related fatalities, according to the country"s Ministry of Health.

The ministerial announcement added that the overall toll of patients who have up to now received treatment in local health facilities has amounted to 10,762, with 1,169 of them in ICU"s for their critical health condition.


Health Minister Victor Zamora said "Although the number of cases in the country is still high, there has been a decrease in infections in recent weeks".

Peru imposed a compulsory quarantine and a curfew on March 16, which included the suspension of economic activities. Enditem
