
UAE- Sharjah reopens parks with stringent regulations
(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) All parks in Sharjah are now open, the emirate''s municipality has said. The civic body has put in place stringent regulations to getting to the post-Covid era in the emirate.
Parks in Sharjah were closed as a preventive measure to curb the coronavirus pandemic. "A well-studied plan has been executed to curb the spread of Covid-19 and the emirate is ready to reopen, " said Thabet Al-Tarifi, director-general of the Sharjah Municipality.
"Children under 12 and those above 60 will not be allowed at the parks. Daily sanitisation processes will continue and visitors will need to adhere to the set instructions. Ground signs have been placed to ensure physical distancing. Visitors should avoid shaking hands, use sanitisers and cover their mouth while sneezing. They should also not gather in groups more than of five. Park playgrounds will remain closed for a while," added Ali Obaid Al Hamoudi, director of the institutional communication at the municipality.
Parks supervisors will monitor violations or failure to comply with the regulations in place, said Al Hamoudi.
