Jordan confirms 25 new COVID-19 cases, including 2 local cases


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, June 12 (Petra)-- Jordan has confirmed 25 new coronavirus cases today, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 915, according to a statement issued by the government and the Ministry of Health.
The new cases included two who contracted the virus from infected persons in Amman and Ramtha, eight truck drivers who were tested at the Al-Omari Border Crossing, including a Jordanian citizen and seven foreigners, who were sent back to his home country, and 15 citizens who have recently returned from abroad, including 13 from Egypt, one from Saudi Arabia and one from Kuwait.
According to the statement, one recovery case was reported today at Queen Alia Military Hospital.
"A total of 7,718 random tests have been conducted today, bringing the total number of tests conducted since the beginning of the crisis to 257,149," the statement indicated.
The Ministry of Health urges those who received alerts via the Aman.jo application to go immediately to the specialized medical centers to undergo the necessary tests.
