Yemeni authorities confirm 28 new coronavirus cases

The total number of coronavirus cases in Yemen's government-controlled provinces rose to 524 on Tuesday, June 9th as 28 new cases were reported.

The Yemeni health Ministry stated in a brief report that during the earlier 24 hours, the number of recoveries in the government-controlled areas remained at 23 since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic on April 10.

In addition, the government declared that the total number of deaths from the virus reached 127 in different areas under its control, including the southern port city of Aden.

The Yemeni government has taken several precautionary and preventative measures into consideration to confine the virus, such as imposing a partial overnight curfew in Aden and other major cities under its control.

The government called on contributors and relevant global humanitarian organizations to provide help to contain the pandemic.
