COVID-19 infects 2,423 more people in Bangladesh


(MENAFN) During the previous 24 hours ending on Thursday, a total of 2,423 patients tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Bangladesh, indicating a decrease by 2,423 new reported infections.

Reporters cited senior Health Ministry official Nasima Sultana as announcing in a press release conducted on Monday early evening in Dhaka that "2,423 new COVID-19 positive cases and 35 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours across Bangladesh."

She further included that "The number of confirmed infections in the country totaled 57,563 while fatalities stood at 781."

Over the last 24-hour period, the South Asian nation carried out a number of laboratory tests for 12,694 suspected COVID-19 cases, health officials declared.
