Mongolia confirms 1 new COVID-19 case

Mongolia confirms one more coronavirus case in the earlier 24 hours, increasing the total number of infections across the country to 186, the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) said on Thursday, June 4th.

NCCD's head Dulmaa Nyamkhuu said at a daily press briefing that "a total of 469 tests for COVID-19 were conducted across Mongolia yesterday and one of them tested positive."

The latest case is one of the over 170 Mongolian citizens who came back to the country from Russia on a chartered flight on May 26 during the coronavirus pandemic, stated Nyamkhuu.

According to the official, all the reported cases, as four foreigners, were imported, mostly from Russia. No internal transmissions or deaths have been confirmed in the country so far.

Nyamkhuu added that 21 more recoveries have been registered from the virus, pushing the total number of recoveries to 65.
