Kyrgyzstan's total COVID-19 cases rise by 28 to 1,899
(MENAFN) During the last 24-hour period as of Thursday, a number of 28 more patients tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Kyrgyzstan, lifting the national tally of the confirmed cases to 1,899.
Local media reports quoted the country's Deputy Health Minister Nurbolot Usenbaev as announcing at a daily press release that all of the newly-confirmed cases are Kyrgyzstan's nationals and being currently held under medical surveillance, including seven infections are being epidemically investigated.
The recent infections included seven medical workers, taking the total number of infections among healthcare personnel to 372, with 270 recoveries, Usenbaev said.
According to the minister, the combined toll of lives that have been claimed due to the pandemic of the COVID-19 across the Central Asian nation has remained unchanged at 20 as zero more fatalities were reported in the course of the past 24 hours.
Currently, a total of 587 patients infected with the disease are being treated in hospitals throughout the country including three in the ICU, the official revealed.
