Kyrgyzstan's total COVID-19 cases rise by 28 to 1,845


(MENAFN) During the last 24-hour period as of Tuesday, a number of 28 more patients tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Kyrgyzstan, lifting the national tally of the confirmed cases to 1,845.

Local media reports quoted the country's Deputy Health Minister Nurbolot Usenbaev as announcing at a daily news briefing that 16 patients among the recently-diagnosed cases were believed to have transmitted the infection internationally.

According to the minister, the combined toll of lives that have been claimed due to the pandemic of the COVID-19 across the Central Asian nation has risen by one to 17 in the course of the past 24 hours.

Currently, a total of 609 patients infected with the disease are being treated in hospitals throughout the country including four in the ICU, the official revealed.
