4 dead in airstrike in Iraq

According to the Iraqi military, two soldiers and two Islamic State (IS) militants were murdered on Monday, June 1st in an airstrike and a bomb attack in the Iraqi provinces of Nineveh and Diyala.

The media office of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command said in a statement that in one of the strikes, two Iraqi soldiers were murdered and two others injured when a bomb blew up on their vehicle amid an operation to chase IS militants close to a mountain outside the town of Makhmour, some 100 km southeast of Nineveh's provincial capital Mosul,

The police stated that in Iraq's eastern province of Diyala, Iraqi helicopter gunships blown-up IS positions in the Udheim area, some 60 km north of the provincial capital Baquba, Alaa al-Saadi from the provincial.
