Afghanistan confirms highest daily surge of COVID-19 cases

(MENAFN) According to a statement issued by the Afghan Ministry of Public Health, the country recorded its highest daily surge in the number of the positive COVID-19 cases as 866 more patients tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The ministry revealed that "A total of 1,425 tests were conducted within the past 24 hours, and 866 cases were tested positive COVID-19."
It further added that at the meantime, the brutal COVID-19 infection claimed 44 more lives in the South Asian nation.
The recent fatalities have taken the death toll to 249 the total fatalities whereas the number of people who have survived the disease stands at 1,303.
