Ethiopia records highest daily surge in COVID-19 cases, with 35 new infections


(MENAFN) According to a statement issued Monday by the Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH), 35 more patients tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the country, lifting the combined tally to 352.

With the new infections, the Horn of Africa country registered its highest daily surge of confirmed cases.

Furthermore, the national toll of cases has risen to 352 after 35 results of the total 1,775 tests conducted in Ethiopia over the past 24 hours, returned positive, according to the ministry.

Based on official data compiled by MoH, all 35 new COVID-19 cases are Ethiopian nationals, of which 17 are males and 18 are females.
