37 more COVID-19 cases reported in Mongolia


(MENAFN) According to a statement issued Saturday by Mongolia's National Center for Communicable Disease (NCCD), the overall tally of the confirmed COVID-19 cases has risen to 135, after 37 more patients tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Reporters cited Dulmaa Nyamkhuu, head of the NCCD, as announcing at an updated news briefing that all of the recent cases are Mongolian nationals who have contracted the deadly infection following their recent travel to Russia, which ended on Thursday.

Nyamkhuu said that all the 135 infections are imported, with four of them are non-nationals, including two pregnant women and one cancer patient, He further included that up to now, Mongolia has reported zero local transmissions of the virus and zero related deaths.

Among the patients being treated at the NCCD, 17 are in critical condition, said the official.
