Total of 1,117 patients test positive for COVID-19 in Kyrgyzstan


(MENAFN) The overall number of patients who have tested positive for the novel coronavirus so far in Kyrgyzstan has risen to 1,117 as six more cases were confirmed over the last 24 hours by Saturday, while the tally of the those who have succumbed to the virus reached 14 across the nation.

As many as three long-haul truck drivers were among the newly-confirmed cases, while the rest of cases are said to have contracted the infection after having close contact with already diagnosed patients, according to a statement issued by Deputy Health Minister Nurbolot Usenbaev.

Meanwhile, the combined toll of patients who have survived the most infectious coronavirus and been accordingly discharged from hospitals has risen by 38 to 783, with 200 of them reported from the medical field, Usenbaev stated.

In the current time, a number of 2,146 suspected COVID-19 cases are being monitored under medical care at local facilities.
