COVID-19 cases in South Sudan climb to 174


(MENAFN) On Monday, South Sudan Ministry of Health affirmed the existence of 18 new coronavirus cases, increasing the overall number of people tested positive for the virus in the nation to 174.

Makur Matur Koriom, undersecretary in the Ministry of Health highlighted that the public health carried out 175 coronavirus tests over the 24 day.

Koriom informed reporters in Juba, "The public health laboratory confirmed 18 cases, and out of these 16 are South Sudanese nationals, and the two are foreign truck drivers stopped at Nimule border crossing where samples were taken."

Some of the newly registered cases caught the infection as a result of contacting with previously announced cases, he added.
