Zero more COVID-19 cases reported in Laos


(MENAFN) The overall tally of the patients who have so far tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Laos has remained unchanged at 19, as zero more cases were reported in the country over the last 24 hours.

Reporters quoted Lao Deputy Minister of Health Phouthone Meaungpak as announcing at a news briefing conducted Monday in Lao capital Vientiane that a mass testing was held for a number of 360 new suspected COVID-19 cases, with all of the results returned negative.

The total figure of the laboratory tests that have been conducted at 60 accommodation centers in Laos since it has been first hit by the pandemic has reached 1616, according to a statement issued Monday by the National Taskforce Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

By Monday, Laos tested 3,547 suspected cases with 19 cases tested positive, and 13 patients have recovered.
