Kyrgyzstan adds 71 more COVID-19 cases, total at 1,002


(MENAFN) The death toll due to the novel coronavirus pandemic in Kyrgyzstan has reached 12, as the overall figure of patients who have tested positive for the virus has jumped to 1,002 with 71 new cases reported over the past 24 hours as of Sunday.

A group of 55 COVID-19 cases were confirmed infected with the virus among the recently-diagnosed infections, with authorities believed that the disease has spread among the patients, all are Kyrgyz citizens who arrived from Russia in early May, following their long-term period through which they resided together in a closed space, according to a statement issued by Deputy Health Minister Nurbolot Usenbaev.

Usenbaev added that the total record of the confirmed COVID-19 cases among healthcare personnel has jumped to 232, while a number of 176 of those infections have walked out of hospitals after showing improvement.

The minister further included that the combined tally of patients who have survived the virus has risen by 17 to 675 over the last 24 hours, whereas the number of patients who are subjected in the current time to medical treatment has reached 260 throughout facilities of the central Asian nation.
