Zarqa, Sokhna camps undergo random COVID-19 tests


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Zarqa, Apr. 16 (Petra) -- The epidemiological inspection teams began testing around 200 people in the Zarqa and Sokhna camps in the Zarqa governorate.
The polymerase chain reaction method (PCR) was used to conduct these tests, which includes swabbing the upper respiratory tract such as the pharynx and nose, giving accurate results.
Head of the Zarqa Camp Services Committee, Abdullatif Sherbini, told Petra on Thursday that 100 samples were taken from greengrocers, chicken sellers, and the medical staff of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees clinic.
Head of the Sokhna Camp Services Committee, Mahmoud Khouly, stated that the epidemiological investigation teams also conducted 100 PCR tests on residents, adding that the results will be announced in 48 hours.
