UAE citizens invest to AED1.65 billion in Abu Dhabi, Dubai stock exchanges


(MENAFN) Official figures showed that, in March 2020, UAE citizens invested with a total of AED1.65 billion in Abu Dhabi and Dubai stock exchanges.


The figure is the highest on record in many years in a sign reflective of the good income offered by UAE equity markets which touch 10 percent in average, and surpassing those given by other investment vehicles, primarily bank deposits.


Emiratis purchased AED2.839 billon and sold AED1.956 billion value of shares, making net investment income of AED883 million during the reference period, as showed in the official statistics.


Total transactions in both bourses stood at AED22.36 billion in March, AED12.732 billion of which were conducted at Dubai Financial Market and AED9.63 billion in Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange.
