COVID-19 spreads to 9 people in Laos


(MENAFN) Lao Deputy Health Minister Phouthone Moungpak announced on Monday the total number of the coronavirus infections has risen to nine, with the latest case confirmed during the day.

The ninth infection was said to be imported as the patient, a woman at her 22 living in Lao capital of Vientiane, had a travel history to Thailand on March 14.

Mittaphab Hospital (150 Hospital) which is a designated hospital based in the capital is where the newly-diagnosed patient is receiving treatment at the current time.

Three of the total nine COVID-19 cases in Laos have been reported in Luang Prabang province while the capital Vientiane has recorded the six other infections.

According to the minister, the health conditions of all the confirmed cases are stable with no one in serious condition.
