Sri Lanka Coronavirus patients increases


(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) The number of patients confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus in Sri Lanka rose to 120 today.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 3 new cases were reported today and have been admitted to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH) in Angoda.

The Unit further revealed 108 patients, among the confirmed cases, have been reported as active cases.

A total of 117 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals across the country on suspicion of having contracted the virus.

Meanwhile, the first death due to the coronavirus in Sri Lanka was reported as a 60 year- old diabetic patient from Marawaila.

The Epidemiology Unit confirmed that 11 patients, including 10 Sri Lakans and a Chinese Woman, have recovered so far and were discharged from the IDH. (Colombo Gazette)
