Japan reports total of 1799 COVID-19 cases, death toll at 65


(MENAFN)The overall number of the confirmed coronavirus cases in Japan has jumped to 1799, according to the announcement of the country's health ministry and local authorities.

The capital Tokyo has reported the highest daily record of more than 60 COVID-19 cases for the second successive day as it reported 68 of the recent infections.
The virus-torn Diamond Princess cruise ship has reported 10 of the total 65 deaths from the novel coronavirus pandemic in Japan.

The Japanese capital city of Tokyo still ranking in first place to record the majority of Japan's total confirmed COVID-19 cases, as the city has reported at least 430 infections so far.

Based on official statements issued by Japan"s health ministry and local governments, among the cities with highest number of recorded cases, Tokyo City headed the list followed by Osaka, Hokkaido Prefecture and Aichi Prefecture with each reporting a total of 191, 175 and 164 cases of coronavirus, respectively.
