Capacity of aluminum production in Iran to reach 775,000 tons


(MENAFN) According to a report by IRNA, the capacity of aluminum production in Iran is likely to stand at 775,000 tons in the recent Iranian calendar year, which is an increase of 60 percent in comparison with the year before.


By the end of the recent Iranian calendar year, Iran's aluminum ingot production is likely to arrive at 629,000 tons, which is a rise of 244,000 tons in comparison with last year's total production, according to Iran's national development plan for the mining sector and based on the Industry, Mining and Trade Ministry's 4-year development program.


In the Iranian calendar year 1396, Iranian aluminum production capacity stood at 422,000 tons, while the production arrived at 337,000 tons.


Last year, Iran's alumina powder production grew by 9,000 tons to 229,000 tons, and production of aluminum ingots climbed 48,000 tons in comparison with the earlier year to stand at 385,000 tons.
