Tourism sector in Cambodia generates USD4.92 billion in revenue in 2019

A report released by the Cambodian Tourism Ministry on Wednesday showed that the tourism sector in the country has generated a gross revenue of USD4.92 billion in the earlier year 2019, representing a rise of 13 percent in comparison to a year earlier.

According to the report, Cambodia welcomed 6.61 million global visitors in the year, a rise of 6.6 percent since the previous year.

The largest tourists source was China, Vietnam and Thailand followed, the number of Chinese visitors to Cambodia totalled 2.36 million in the year, representing an annual rise of 16.7 percent.

The report said that "Tourism sector has contributed 12.1 percent to Cambodia's gross domestic product (GDP) last year".
