Myanmar posts more than USD10 billion in sea trade

Data published by the Myanmar ministry of commerce showed that the trade of Myanmar through sea routes logged more than USD10.4 billion in the starting 5 fives of the current fiscal year (FY) 2019-2020 which began in October.

The country saw more than USD4.14 billion from maritime exports as its import shared more than USD6.33 billion by the 14th of February.

The sea trade of the current fiscal year registered a significant rise by more than USD1.58 billion in comparison with the same period of the last fiscal year 2018-2019.

Around 80 percent of the foreign trade of Myanmar is made using sea-borne trade and its border trade is made with neighboring countries such as China, Thailand, India and Bangladesh.
