Official media said on Monday that Myanmar aims to export 2.5 million tons of rice in the current fiscal year 2019-2020 which began in last October.
Data published by the Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) said that Myanmar has exported 986,345 tons of rice and made USD282.9 million of rice exports by the 10th of January.
The country made USD245 million in the period from the 1st of October 2018 to the 10th of January 2020 from exporting more than 842,342 tons of rice through sea ways, it has also made USD37.8 million in income from exporting 144,002 tons of rice using border gates.
29 percent of the rice and broken rice of Myanmar came from countries like China, followed by EU member states, African countries and others in the period.
