(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt)

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled Anany met with Minister of Communication and Information Technology Amr Talaat on Sunday to discuss using smart technologies to promote Egyptian tourism at international forums and exhibitions, and to improve internet services at tourism facilities.

Both discussed improving communications infrastructure at hotels and tourist resorts to ensure best services to visitors.

The meeting also dealt with developing the Tourism Ministry's website after its merger with the Antiquities Ministry to be more attractive and showcase more archaeological and coastal sites.

Anany stated that the use of modern technology would change entirely the tourism promotion campaigns of Egypt at international exhibitions, which would push the tourism movement.

For his part, Talaat said his ministry is working to transfer Egypt into a digital community through a new strategy that includes increasing internet speed across the country. Digital transformation of Egypt is a main axis of economic and social development.
