Export container shipping index in China rises

The Shanghai Shipping Exchange (SSE) said that the export container transport index in China has posted a rise in December.

The average Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) in China posted an increase of 3.2 percent since the earlier month to set at 841.46 points last month.

The sub-index for the Persian Gulf/Red Sea and European routes rose 13.7 percent and 6.6 percent respectively in December.

The Australia/New Zealand and West Africa routes registered a drop of 4.6 percent and 2.4 percent in their sub-index respectively.
