Qatari FM to pay official visit to Iran's Tehran

(MENAFN) On Saturday, Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani is scheduled to pay an official visit to Iran, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

The Qatari foreign minister, during his visit to Tehran, will encounter and hold official discussions with his Iranian counterpart, Javad Zarif, ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi tweeted on Twitter platform.

The Doha-based Al Jazeera television, citing sources, affirmed that the Qatari minister was due to arrive in Tehran, without providing more information.

Qatari authorities did not remark on the visit, which comes one day after high-ranking Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani was murdered as a result of drone attack by U.S. in Iraq.
