The Cambodian National Police said on Wednesday that the anti-drug police in Cambodia have apprehended 2 Thai people for trafficking around 8 kg of drugs from Thailand into Cambodia.

Sutham Prasop and Natthapon, the 2 suspects, were captured on Tuesday afternoon when they smuggled the drug from Thailand into Cambodia through the O Smach border checkpoint in Oddar Meanchey province.

The police said that "A total of 7.97 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and a pick-up truck were seized from the suspects".

Cambodia has no death penalty for drug smugglers. Under its law, someone found guilty of smuggling over 80 grams of drugs could be jailed for life.
