(MENAFN) On Monday, as many as 20 people have been murdered and nearly 25 more were wounded as a result of a big battle in the outskirt of Somalia's central region of Mudug, an official emphasized.
Governor of Mudug region, Abdirahman Ali Diriye, informed reporters that inter-clan clashes broke out at the Towfiq village in the northwest of the Mudug region between two Somali tribes over land conflicts.
Diriye affirmed, "The fight started after one of the clans launched an attack in revenge for past killings. There was a stiff battle between two militias and 20 people, most of them from the warring sides died during the clashes and 25 others were injured".
He added, "We are now dispatching elders from the administration to cease the fight".
