Pakistan- Professor's car hits a student in protest over 'harassment' in Nowshera college


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) NOWSHERA: The students of Nowshera Medical College have boycotted their classes over alleged harassment of the female students.

The protest of the students continued for third day on Friday. However, the college Dean Dr Jahangir strongly denied the charges of harassment.

The students of the college alleged that a class-IV employee of the college made a video with students and then uploaded it on the social media. They alleged that the employee is now blackmailing the students over the video.

The students are boycotting their classes over uploading of the video on the social media. The protesting students came in front of the vehicle of Professor Dr Shah Nawaz. A student was injured when he was hit by the professor's vehicle. In another video shared by protesting students, it can be clearly seen that the vehicle of Professor Dr Shah Nawaz was stopped by the protesting students. A student sat in front of the car on road, but the car sped away while hitting the student sitting on the road due to which he was injured. The students alleged that the injured student was also threatened by showing him a gun. The injured student demanded action against the professors who injured him with is car. He alleged that the car was driven by Professor Dr Ikram, while Professor Dr Shah Nawaz was sitting along with him. He said he was compelled to sit on the road as the university administration was not listening to the demands of protesting students.

Another student alleged that the two professors in the car took out a pistol as soon as they saw the students stopping their car. He said although the professors did not fire a bullet, but they threatened the students with the pistol.

The protesting students demanded that strict action must be taken against the officials involved in harassment of students. They also demanded action over the incident in which a student was injured during protest.

The Nowshera Medical College Dean Dr Jahangir strongly denied harassment with any female student. He said few students are violating discipline of the collage and spoiling the atmosphere which is affecting studies of other students.
