The University of Manchester hosts graduates and families at the MBA graduation celebration for the Middle East


(MENAFN- WPR) The University of Manchester today held its seventh MBA graduation event for Middle East students of the University’s Alliance Manchester Business School. The graduation celebration event, held at the Fairmont The Palm hotel in Dubai, was attended by 39 students (of more than a dozen nationalities) and their families and friends. Dr Abdulla Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Knowledge & Human Development Authority (KHDA) was the guest of honour and addressed the new graduates. Professor Sharon Clarke, Deputy Dean of Alliance Manchester Business School, part of The University of Manchester, led the celebration event and gave the keynote address on behalf of the University,

The Middle East Centre graduated a total of 194 part-time MBA students in 2019. Of the 39 new MBA graduates attending the Dubai celebration event, the majority graduated with Merit or Distinction and most reside in the UAE; around 15% of these new graduates are female.

The University of Manchester opened its Middle East Centre at Dubai Knowledge Park in 2006 and, today, it is the largest and fastest growing of the University’s network of six centres around the world. The Middle East Centre has supported more than 2,600 part-time students in the region, and graduated more than 1,600.

The Global Part-time MBA study option leads to the award of the internationally recognised Manchester MBA degree from the University of Manchester, which was recognised at the Forbes Middle East Higher Education Awards 2019, winning the ‘Best MBA Programme’ award.

The University of Manchester continues to move higher in a range of new ranking announcements, confirming its status as one of the world’s top universities, focusing on the quality of teaching, research and social responsibility.

The University of Manchester reached its highest-ever position in the QS World University Rankings 2019, which now lists Manchester as the world’s 27th best university, and among the very top global institutions. In addition to the global ranking, QS university league tables also position the University at 6th in the UK and 8th in Europe, and part of the elite group of research-driven institutions. In Dubai, The University of Manchester has been awarded a 5-star rating from the Knowledge & Human Development Authority.
