
Chemicals imports up 5%

São Paulo – Brazil's chemical imports were up 4.9% year-to-date through October from a year ago, the Brazilian Chemical Industry Association (Abiquim) reported this Tuesday (19).
The purchase value stood at USD 37.6 billion. Fertilizers and its intermediate products were the main item imported at 20.9%. By December, Abiquim expects imports to reach USD 45.2 billion.
Last October alone, Brazil imported USD 4.3 billion in chemical products, up 1.4% year-to-date.
