(MENAFN) The number of murdered people as a result of clashes between demonstrators and security forces in the southern city of Nassiriya has climbed to four, according to a local medical source on Monday.
The informed Anadolu Agency in condition of secrecy, "The clashes that continued until midnight have left 146 people injured".
He added that most of the wounds were caused as a result of the use of teargas canisters and live ammunition by security forces.
According to the Iraqi High Commission for Human Rights as many as 319 demonstrators have been murdered and thousands more wounded as a result of the anti-corruption protests which broke out in Iraq since Oct. 1.
