Family over the moon after Nasim Shah's inclusion in Test squad

LOWER DIR: Nasim Shah from Jandol Mayar area of Lower Dir has also been included in the 16-member squad for Test series against Australia.

Beside the young pace bowler, his family is also over the moon over his selection for a crucial series against Australia. Nasim Shah's father Haji Muzaffar Shah and brother Saleem Shah said Nasim Shah had a passion for playing cricket and representing the country from his childhood. They said Nasim started playing cricket at his village.

Nasim Shah's father said he used to scold his son for playing cricket. However, he said, at the same time he was hopeful that Nasim Shah might get a chance at the higher level one day due to his exceptional pace bowling skills. He said Nasim Shah was first selected in the Under-16 trials in Swat, but could not go further due to age factor. Afterwards, he was selected for Asia Cup in the Under-19 trials in Peshawar. He has already visited Sri Lanka, South Africa, Dubai and Australia and has experience of playing on that pitches in a very young age. He was among the top-10 bowlers in the Under-16 bowlers after taking 32 wickets. He played from Punjab team in the recently concluded National T20 Cup.

The talented cricketer hails from Jandol, which is the constituency of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) ameer Senator Sirajul Haq. The JI chief congratulated Haji Muzaffar Shah over selection of his son in the national Test team and prayed for his further success in future. Sirajul Haq hoped that Nasim Shah will good name for his area and country though is good performances. He said it is a matter of pride for Jandol that a player has been included in the Test squad from this area.

Another bowler, Imran Khan Senior has also been included in the Test squad from Maidan area of Lower Dir. Now two fast bowlers are in the Test squad from Lower Dir which is not less than a distinction. Imran Khan Senior is a hugely talented bowler and he has made comeback to the Test team after a long break.
