Turkmenistan holds military parade in honor of Independence Day (PHOTO)

A military parade dedicated to the 28th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence was held on the central square in Ashgabat on Sept. 27,Trendreports.
Turkmen Minister of Defense, Major General Begench Gundogdyev reported to President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander of the Turkmen Armed Forces Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov at the beginning of the parade.
After receiving a command from the Supreme Commander of the Turkmen Armed Forces to start the parade, Gundogdyev carried out a parade according to the military ceremony.
An Israeli-made heavy armoured fighting vehicle COMBAT-2, military ATVs and light armoured vehicles for hard-to-reach areas, modern SUVs from leading manufacturers were demonstrated at the parade.
The pilots of Eurocopter-145 helicopters and fighter pilots in Su-25 attack aircraft demonstrated their skills.
A horse named Dowamly born in 2017, which was presented to President Berdymuhamedov on behalf of the government, was also shown at the parade.
