Fire engulfs Texas chemical plant

A blast and a fire erupted on Saturday at a chemical plant in Texas, a state of the U.S., no one was injured in the fire.

The Celanese Corporation said the blast and fire erupted in the carbon monoxide unit at its plant in the Clear Lake area of Pasadena, no humans were injured in the explosion or fire.

The company said in a statement that "At this time, the fire has been stopped; the incident is under control, and cleanup is underway".

The local emergency management office said that "there is no need for a shelter in place" in the neighboring city of La Porte.
