Afghan forces kill 35 Taliban militants in Farah


(MENAFN) On Saturday, at least 35 Taliban militants were murdered as a result of Afghan security forces raid in western Farah province, the country's Interior Ministry affirmed on Sunday.

The ministry emphasized in a statement, "The operation was launched in Anar Dara district of Farah. Those among the killed were Sayyed Azim, insurgent's shadow district chief for Anar Dara, and Esmatullah who served as Taliban chief intelligence in the district".

The statement added that the security forces were backed by the Afghan Air Force during the raid in the district, bordering Iran.

Lately, Afghan security forces increased the fight against militants because that nation is organizing to hold presidential poll which is scheduled to occur by the end of this month.
