Iran, Afghanistan to bolster economic ties
(MENAFN) Iran explored with Afghanistan means to strengthen their bilateral relations and cooperation in economic spheres as the two countries seek to snatch business opportunities.
Tehran hosted a joint meeting of Iran-Afghanistan business opportunities, granting a chance for Iranian and Afghan economic advisors and top diplomats to engage in talks.
Both sides further reviewed the potential of forming a joint cooperation committee as Afghanistan suffers from investment issues.
It was pointed out that "Afghanistan's imports from Iran is between $2.5 million and $2.8 million and Iran's share of the Afghanistan import market is 17 percent which this issue has resulted in locating Iran at the top of Afghanistan suppliers."
