Uzbekistan unveils parliamentary elections date


(MENAFN) Uzbekistan's Central Election Commission (CEC) announced December 22nd as the date of the anticipated parliamentary and local council elections.

On Tuesday, CEC confirmed the National Revival Party to be among those officially registered for the elections alongside the People's Democratic Party, the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, the Social Democratic Party Adolat and the Ecological Party.

CEC affirmed that those political parties will be running for 150 seats in Uzbekistan's Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (the lower house of the parliament).

It further declared that regional, city and district councils elections will also be launched on December 22 this year.
