Damascus – The Damascus International Fair expects the participation of 1,500 companies, the Syrian government news agencySANAreported. The 61st edition of the multisectoral show will run from August 28 to September 6 in the Syria's capital city.
The fair will feature pavilions from 30 countries. Brazil will have a stand organized by theArab Brazilian Chamber of Commerceand the country's embassy to Damascus. The show's slogan this year is 'From Syria to the World.' Pictured above, the exhibition center in Damascus.
Brazilian ambassador to Damascus, Fabio Vaz Pitaluga, has recently pointed out toSANAthe existence of wide horizons to boost cooperation between Syria and Brazil, stressing that Brazil is keen to help reconstruct Syria. He hopes that peace and prosperity would return to Syria.
The fair's Delegations and Public Relations Committee reported that 400 Arab and foreign businessmen were invited to participate in the event, including a high-level 40-people delegation from THE United Arab Emirates and a 35-people one from Oman.
The fair expects 200 visitors from European states who are specialized in the food sector, SANA reported, in addition to 100 international visitors of the textile sector.
The fair will feature segmented exhibitions for the financial, insurance and agriculture sector, as well as the 19th Al-Bassel Fair for Invention and Innovation, which is open to inventors, high students and institutions with environmental, water resources and energy projects.
The Damascus International Fair occurs since the 50's, but it stopped being held since the started of the civil war in Syria broke out in 2011. The show started running again in 2017. The Brazilian embassy participated in the two last editions of the event, while the Arab Brazilian Chamber participates since the2018's .
