Iranian floating storage capacity expected to expand
(MENAFN) Iran is expected to double the capacity of its floating storage amid possible squeezed exports over growing scrutiny on its crude vessels transportation.
Managing Director for the Middle East at Facts Global Energy, Iman Nasseri forecasts Iran to see 30 million to 40 million barrels of capacity.
Aiming to keep on exporting 300,000 to 500,000 bpd via Iranian vessels, the country will be required to have 30 to 40 million barrels of fleet capacity.
Nasseri added that "in a scenario that Iran's exports drop to less than 300,000 barrels per day, they could use 100 million [barrels of] capacity of their fleet for storage and utilise the remaining 20 million barrels for those vessels delivering their sales of crude and condensate."
