Struggle in W. Afghanistan caused 12 death


(MENAFN)An official declared that around 12 warriors including 5 militants and 7 seven pro-government militiamen were murdered after a struggle in Afghanistan's western Badghis province.

Toryalai Ahmadzai, the district governor, reported that the clash started when a group of equipped Taliban launched multi-pronged attacks on security checkpoints in Qadas area.

Ahmadzai reported that: "Seven pro-government militia and five Taliban fighters were killed and 16 others including 12 insurgents wounded during the fierce battle which lasted for five hours."

He also said that the militants had escaped.
