Yemen: roadside bombing kills 2 in Abyan


(MENAFN) On Saturday, at least two Yemeni security members were murdered in a roadside bombing in the nation's southern province of Abyan, a government official informed Xinhua.

The source stated in condition of secrecy, "An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) placed by unknown elements struck a vehicle of the security forces in Mahfed district of Abyan, killing two soldiers at the scene".

The official emphasized, without giving further information that the number of soldiers who sustained wounds and rushed to a nearby hospital to receive the needed medical treatment.

The roadside bomb explosion took place just a day after a large attack conducted by scores of al-Qaida terrorists against an army base in Mahfed.
