Oman- Cloudy weather to prevail over the next few days, says Met
The cloudy weather being experienced by the sultanate will continue for the next few days. According to the meteorological department, parts of Oman that are near the mountains will get rainfall. Places like Bahla, Nizwa and Sur will also see mild to moderate showers in the next few days.
A Met official said, 'The pleasant weather is a result of the northwesterly winds from the Indian Ocean. The temperature will hover around 35 degrees but by next week it will increase. The wind speed is expected to be around 10 knots.'
The Met office in its predictions for Thursday has forecast partly cloudy to cloudy skies along the coastal areas of Dhofar governorate and adjoining mountains with chances of intermittent drizzle and rain accompanied by occasional thunderstorm.
'While partly cloudy skies are expected over governorates of Al Wusta and South Sharqiyah, there are chances of late night to early morning low level clouds along most of the coastal areas of the Sea of Oman.'
The seas are expected to be rough along the Arabian Sea coast with maximum wave height of 5m and moderate along the Sea of Oman and the Musandam coast with maximum wave height expected to be 1.5m.
The met office has warned sailors against venturing due to rough sea.
