Government reshuffle takes place in Croatia

A Government rearrangement was suggested by the Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on Wednesday night at a meeting of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).

Three ministers were relieved of duty on Wednesday behind closed-doors HDZ meeting, Plenkovic proposed to replace Nada Murganic, Minister of Demography, Gabrijela Zalac, Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds, and Tomislav Tolusic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture.

Plenkovic stated at a press conference that was held at the head office of the government that It is normal at the end of the third year to make changes that will allow the government to continue without any burdens with the activities related to the growth of the economy and with reducing tensions in society, and ultimately to achieve the confidence which was given to at the elections.

Plenkovic stated that the media's portrayal of his cabinet was progressively becoming a burden for his cabinet when asked for explanation of the removal of three more ministers on Wednesday, which helped him conclude that it was time for a change.
