Nepal appoints Jaya Prada as it's tourism goodwill ambassador


(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Katmandu: Noted Indian Film actress and a former Indian Parliament member Jaya Prada has been appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for the promotion of Nepal tourism.
A ministerial-level meeting of the Ministry of Culture on September 21, appointed the 60-year-old Indian actress as the tourism Goodwill Ambassador for four years, a spokesperson of the Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ministry said.
Tourism remains a significant income generating source and creating job opportunities in the Himalayan state and India is the biggest source market. The appointment is likely to help in creating a strong base in India and increasing tourism-related activities between the two countries, the Ministry said in a press statement.
The government has made a decision to take notice of the year 2020 as the 'Visit Nepal Year' campaign and set a target of welcoming two million tourists during that year.
